How do I make reservations? Coastal Dunes and Oceano Campground (office is located at Coastal Dunes for both campgrounds)
Online reservations must be made two days prior to arrival date. One-day prior or same-day reservations can be made by phone, 805-781-4900 or at the campground.
The phone line is available Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
The office is open Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday through Sunday 8:00am to 6:00pm
If the office is open: staff will help you make a reservation.
If the office is closed: temporarily camp in a vacant site, check-in at kiosk the next morning.
You may need to move in the morning, depending on availability.
 
El Chorro Campground Online reservations must be made two days prior to arrival date.
One-day prior or same-day reservations must be made at the campground.
If the kiosk is open: staff will help you make a reservation.

Camping is limited to 15 consecutive days in a 30 day period during the peak season and 30 days in a 60 day period during the off-peak season. Fees for cancelling your reservation
Three (3) days or more cancellation prior to arrival date will be charged the $10 reservation fee.
Two (2) day cancellation prior to arrival date will be charged the reservation fee of $10 and a $25 cancellation fee.
Cancellation one (1) day prior or on arrival day will be charged the reservation fee and the first night.
 
There is a $10 fee to change any reservation.

We have an agreement with the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO) to coordinate volunteer resources for projects and other activities on County Park Property.  Please reach out to them directly.  Please see link below for further information about ECOSLO and SLO County Parks

I have a reservation, how do I access locked items in a day-use area? An updated confirmation with a lock code will be emailed to you the week of your reservation.  Check under Receipt Notes for information.

Do your campgrounds have dump stations? Our campgrounds do not have dump stations. 
 
If you are not staying in a full-hook-up site you will need to use one of the stations below:
 
Santa Margarita Lake Campground - Use Santa Margarita KOA located at 4765 Santa Margarita Lake Rd, 805-438-5618. Fee: $20.00. Open 8:00am - 5:00pm daily.
 
El Chorro Campground - Use Morro Bay State Park Campground located off Main Street, 805-772-2560. Fee: $10.00, Credit Cards Only. Open 24/7.
 
Lopez Lake, Coastal Dunes and Oceano Campgrounds - Use Pismo State Beach Campground located at Le Sage Dr./HWY1, 805-473-7220. Fee: $10.00, Credit Cards Only.  Open 8:00am - 5:00pm daily.
Do I qualify to become a Camp Host?
Be an integral part of our team at our regional parks or overnight camping facilities. Hosts are provided an RV site in exchange for assistance with visitor services, campsite maintenance and management.  All applicants are background checked and must pass a live-scan.  
If you are interested, please complete and return the Camp Host Application. . The application can be emailed to sloparks@co.slo.ca.us or mailed to 1144 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA  93408.
New fees went into effect March 1, 2024. Reservations are limited to six months in advance.
